When a surveillance site covers several kilometres, a standard security camera may not provide enough reach for reliable observation, especially after dark. Long-range monitoring requires a camera that can illuminate distant targets, maintain image detail while zooming, and move across a large viewing area. The Bit-CCTV BIT-RC2050W is designed for this type of long-distance surveillance, combining a high-sensitivity camera, laser illumination, long-range lens and PTZ movement in one network camera system.

The BIT-RC2050W is a long-range night vision laser network PTZ camera designed for monitoring distant areas during both daytime and nighttime. Its 2MP camera uses a 1/1.8'' CMOS sensor with 0.0002lux high sensitive color to B/W capability, allowing the camera to continue providing surveillance as available light becomes very low. The automatic ICR switch helps transition between day and night imaging, while the 808nm Military NIR illumination provides additional lighting for nighttime observation.

The main advantage of this type of camera is the combination of illumination and long-range optical zoom. The 8-500mm lens can adjust the viewing range according to the monitoring distance, while the laser angle can change from 0.7°～20°. Its DSS digital stepper illumination angle control and laser angle and distance matching technology are designed to keep the illumination aligned with the zoom level. This is useful when an operator needs to observe a distant vehicle, person, road section, perimeter or other target without changing the complete camera position.

The PTZ mechanism allows the camera to cover a wide area rather than remaining fixed on one direction. Continuous 360° pan rotation, +40°～-45° tilt movement, 200 preset positions, cruising track, pattern tour and auto scan allow it to be used for scheduled and operator-controlled surveillance. Network connectivity also allows the camera to be integrated into compatible monitoring systems, while optional interfaces can connect with radar, GIS or other equipment.

The housing is designed for outdoor deployment, with a sealed die-cast aluminum alloy construction, IP66 waterproof and dustproof protection, and a PTA three-resistance coating with anti-corrosion available as an option. The camera is specified for operation from -40℃～+65℃ and includes anti-shake and anti-shock features. These characteristics make the BIT-RC2050W suitable for applications where long-distance day and night monitoring is required across exposed outdoor areas.
