The Broadcom LPe36000-M64 is a Gen 7 Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter designed to provide high-speed connectivity between servers and Fibre Channel storage networks. With support for 64GFC, 32GFC, and 16GFC data rates, it provides fast and flexible storage connectivity for demanding enterprise environments. Its single-port design makes it suitable for servers that require a dedicated high-performance Fibre Channel connection.

This HBA uses a PCIe Gen4 x8 host bus interface and the XE601 I/O controller to deliver efficient data movement between the server and connected storage infrastructure. The 64GFC mode uses 28.9 GBaud PAM4 signaling, while 32GFC and 16GFC use NRZ signaling, with the supported optical data rate automatically detected. This makes the adapter suitable for modern Fibre Channel SAN environments while maintaining compatibility with earlier Fibre Channel speeds.

The LPe36000-M64 supports short-wave laser optics with an LC type connector and can operate across supported OM3, OM4, and OM5 multimode fiber distances. When approved longwave transceivers are used, it can also support up to 10 km at 32GFC and 16GFC over singlemode fiber. This flexibility helps organizations connect servers to storage systems across different network layouts and distances.

The adapter supports a broad range of operating environments, including Microsoft Windows, Oracle Linux, Oracle Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, VMware vSphere, and openEuler, with additional support available from OEMs and partners. It also supports AMD and Intel x64 and x86 environments, ARMv8 64-bit, and PowerPC platforms, making it useful for a variety of enterprise server architectures.

With its short, low-profile PCIe card design and included standard and low-profile brackets, the Broadcom LPe36000-M64 can be installed in different server configurations. Its 0°C to 55°C operating temperature range and 5% to 95% non-condensing operating humidity support reliable deployment in data centers and enterprise IT environments. It is well suited for Fibre Channel SAN connectivity, enterprise storage servers, virtualization platforms, and high-performance storage applications.
