Cisco Secure Firewall 3140 1U NGFW Appliance FPR3140-NGFW-K9
The Cisco Secure Firewall 3140 FPR3140-NGFW-K9 is a 1RU next-generation firewall appliance designed for enterprise network security, firewall, intrusion prevention, and traffic control applications. It runs Firewall Threat Defense (FTD) software and provides high-performance firewall, AVC, IPS, TLS, and IPsec VPN capabilities in a compact rack-mount chassis.
The appliance provides 49 Gbps firewall throughput and up to 45 Gbps throughput with firewall, AVC, and IPS enabled using 1024-byte traffic. It supports up to 10 million concurrent sessions with AVC and up to 300,000 new connections per second with AVC. TLS throughput is rated at 11.5 Gbps, while IPsec VPN throughput reaches 22.4 Gbps with Fastpath and a projected 39.4 Gbps with VPN offload using FTD 7.2.
For network connectivity, the Cisco Secure Firewall 3140 includes 8 × 10M/100M/1GBASE-T RJ-45 Ethernet interfaces and 8 × 1/10/25 Gigabit Ethernet SFP interfaces. Optional network modules provide additional 1/10/25G or 40G connectivity, with the system supporting up to 24 Ethernet ports.
The FPR3140-NGFW-K9 supports firewall and dedicated IPS operating modes, with ASA or Firewall Threat Defense software options. Clustering and Q-in-Q are supported, providing additional flexibility for enterprise network deployments.
The 1RU chassis measures 1.75 × 17 × 20 inches and weighs 25 lb. It includes two power supply modules, one network module, dual fan modules, and an SSD. The appliance operates from 100/240 VAC and supports operating temperatures from 0°C to 40°C.
