The Cisco Wireless 9178I CW9178I-CFG is a high-performance tri-band Wi-Fi 7 indoor radio access point designed to deliver fast, reliable wireless connectivity for demanding enterprise environments. Supporting 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands, this Cisco Wi-Fi 7 access point provides advanced wireless performance with support for up to 16 spatial streams and data transfer rates up to 18 Gbps.
Built for modern wireless networks, the Cisco Wireless 9178I supports Wi-Fi 7 along with IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax standards, Ethernet connectivity, Bluetooth LE, and advanced technologies including 4x4:4 MU-MIMO, Multi-Link Operation (MLO), OFDMA, beamforming, BSS Coloring, and Target Wake Time. Its quad-radio mode and Flexible Radio Assignment (FRA) help support demanding connectivity requirements across high-density indoor deployments.
The access point features two 100M/1G/2.5/5/10 Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 interfaces with UPOE support, providing flexible high-speed wired connectivity and power delivery. It also includes a dedicated management RJ-45 interface and USB 2.0 connectivity, making it suitable for enterprise networking, IoT connectivity, and advanced wireless infrastructure applications.
Security is supported through WPA3 and WPA2 encryption, AES and AES-GCMP, 802.1x authentication, EAP authentication methods, image signing, secure boot, and the Cisco Trust Anchor module. Integrated GPS, GNSS receiver, and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) capabilities further extend its suitability for enterprise environments requiring location-aware and IoT-enabled wireless networking.
Designed for indoor deployment, the Cisco Wireless 9178I features internal omni-directional antennas, a compact external form factor, and operation across temperatures from 0 °C to 50 °C with 10–90% non-condensing humidity. It is well suited for enterprise offices, high-density workplaces, smart buildings, IoT environments, and other applications requiring secure, high-capacity Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.
