Comtech CDM-625A 18 kbps to 25 Mbps Data Rate Advanced Satellite Modem
The Comtech CDM-625A is an advanced satellite modem designed for reliable broadband satellite communications and demanding data transmission applications. It supports data rates from 18 kbps to 25 Mbps in 1 bps steps, providing flexible bandwidth control for different satellite network requirements.
The modem supports symbol rates from 18 ksps to 12.5 Msps and operates across 50 to 180 MHz as standard, with an optional 950 to 2250 MHz frequency range. Its broad modulation support includes BPSK, QPSK, OQPSK, 8PSK, 8-QAM, 16-QAM, 16-ARY, and 32-ARY for adaptable satellite communication configurations.
For forward error correction and link performance, the CDM-625A supports Viterbi, Reed Solomon, TCM, integrated LDPC and TPC, VersaFEC, and VersaFEC-2. VersaFEC can also operate with Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) or Constant Coding and Modulation (CCM), helping support changing satellite link requirements.
The modem provides multiple data interface options, including EIA-422/-530, V.35, LVDS, and HSSI serial interfaces. Its integrated 4-port 10/100Base-T managed Ethernet switch and G.703 T1, T2, E1, and E2 support make it suitable for connecting different types of network and telecom equipment in satellite communication systems.
The Comtech CDM-625A also provides extensive management and RF connectivity features, including SNMP, HTTP, Telnet, EIA-232, EIA-485, BNC external reference input, BUC power supply, and selectable LNB voltage. With a rack-mount 1.75-inch form factor and operation from 0 to 50°C, it can be deployed in satellite network infrastructure, telecommunications systems, remote connectivity installations, and other professional satellite communication environments.
