The Dell PowerEdge XR8720t is a 2U edge server designed for high-performance computing in demanding edge environments. It features one Intel Xeon 6 SoC processor with an HCC configuration supporting up to 40 cores, providing substantial processing capacity in a compact 2U sled form factor.

The system supports DDR5 RDIMM memory at speeds of up to 6400 MT/s, with four DDR5 DIMM slots and up to 384GB RAM with an HCC processor. Storage supports up to three NVMe M.2 non-hot-swappable drives, with maximum storage capacity of 5.76TB.

For networking, the XR8720t offers flexible configurations with up to two DSFF OCP NIC 3.0 cards, each supporting eight SFP 10/25GbE ports. The embedded NIC configuration also provides options for two QSFP 100GbE ports or eight SFP 10/25GbE ports.

Security features include cryptographically signed firmware, Secure Boot, Secure Erase, Silicon Root of Trust, Secured Component Verification, System Lockdown, and TPM 2.0 FIPS and CC-TCG certification. Management is provided through iDRAC, iDRAC Direct, Redfish API, RACADM CLI, IPMI, and Dell management tools.
