Traditional copper and legacy access networks can no longer deliver the bandwidth and performance that modern subscribers expect. Increasing network capacity often requires laying new fibre infrastructure, resulting in expensive and time-consuming civil engineering projects. Service providers need a way to expand bandwidth and support future growth without replacing existing network assets or repeatedly excavating established routes.
Deploy a fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) platform that supports GPON, XGS-PON, and next-generation PON technologies on the same optical distribution network. This approach enables operators to increase capacity by upgrading the electronics at each end of the network rather than replacing the fibre infrastructure itself. The result is a scalable, future-proof network that can grow with subscriber demand while minimizing disruption, deployment costs, and infrastructure investment.
The Fiber Access & FTTx Solution is built for operators and network builders who need to raise capacity per subscriber without re-digging the route or stranding the plant already in the ground. Designed for exchanges and street cabinets moving from copper and legacy access to fiber-to-the-premises, this kit delivers GPON and XGS-PON on the same optical distribution network, so capacity is lifted by changing the electronics at each end rather than the fiber between them. The passive plant is laid once, and the network is upgraded in place as demand grows.
Attached by an Adtran SDX 6320-16 Combo PON OLT at the exchange, the kit terminates both GPON and XGS-PON subscribers on a single 16-port platform. Because it is a Combo PON line card, the same optical distribution network can carry today's GPON customers and tomorrow's 10-gigabit XGS-PON customers over the identical fiber and splitter, with each subscriber served by the ONT that matches their service tier. This removes the classic upgrade dilemma: no second OLT, no second overlay network, and no truck roll to the outside plant when a subscriber steps up to a faster tier.
At the subscriber premises, the kit pairs the OLT with matched Adtran ONTs an SDX 631 delivering 10GbE over XGS-PON for premium and business connections, and an SDX 601q delivering 2.5GbE over GPON for mainstream residential service. Both terminate on the same passive splitter and feeder fiber, so a single optical distribution network simultaneously supports the full range of subscriber speeds. Keeping OLT and ONT within the Adtran family guarantees interoperability and a single support path across the access link.
The optical distribution network the passive splitters, feeder and drop fiber remains the operator's existing outside plant, and the BNG and core sit above the OLT on the operator's own routing layer. The kit supplies the active electronics that light both ends of that fiber; everything civil and passive stays in place, untouched. The result is a clean, in-place capacity upgrade: subscribers move to fiber speeds, GPON and XGS-PON coexist on one network, and the operator adds capacity by swapping electronics rather than digging.

Operators and altnets migrating subscribers from copper and legacy access to fiber-to-the-premises, exchanges and street cabinets that must serve mainstream and premium subscribers over one network, brownfield access networks where the passive plant is already in the ground, deployments needing GPON and XGS-PON coexistence without a second overlay, and any builder seeking to raise capacity per subscriber by upgrading electronics in place rather than re-digging the route.

We are retiring PICOPC Products MNHO-073, MNHO-048 and MNHO-043 and they have reached EOL (End Of Life) as we are introducing new products with better technology. We would recommend you to look into MNHO-095. For Untangle, pfSense, OPNsense, Windows 11, Proxmox VE etc. we recommend MNHO-095 whereas for Sophos, Kerio Control and Endian, we would recommend MNHO-069. (A complete list of supported OS can be found in each product's listing)
