Exor PLCM01, Plug-in module for CAN Communication
The Exor PLCM01 is a plug-in module designed to add CAN communication capability to compatible Exor controllers, HMIs, and edge devices. It supports CAN V2.0A and V2.0B, allowing the host product to communicate with CAN-based devices and systems without requiring a separate external communication unit.
The module is designed for plug-and-play installation. It snaps directly into the available slot of supported products, where it is immediately recognized by the operating system without requiring software installation. This makes it useful when expanding an existing system with an additional communication interface while keeping the installation compact.
The CAN interface supports a maximum speed of 1 Mb and includes optical isolation. Optical isolation helps separate the CAN communication interface from the host electronics, which can be useful in industrial environments where electrical noise and differences in electrical potential may affect communication.
The PLCM01 uses a DB9 connector for CAN communication and can also support a plug-in bus extender on selected models. It is compatible with the eX700 Series, eX700M Series, eXware Series, eX700MG Series, eX700G Series, FB Series, and eTOP500 Series, providing a flexible option for adding CAN connectivity across supported Exor platforms.
For industrial installations, the module is designed to operate from -20°C to +60°C and has an IP20 protection class. Its approvals include CE, UL cULus, Class I Div. 2, ATEX, IECEx, DNV-GL, LR, EU MR, and RCM, supporting its use in a range of industrial and marine applications.
