When an industrial control system needs to handle digital signals, analog measurements, counters, encoders, frequency inputs, and analog control outputs in one installation, using separate I/O modules can make the system larger and more complicated. The Exor PLIO03 combines these functions into one multifunction I/O module for applications that need flexible signal handling from a single device.
Exor PLIO03, 20 Channel Multifunction I/O Module
The Exor PLIO03 is a multifunction I/O module designed to bring a wide range of industrial signals into a control system. It provides 20 digital inputs, 12 digital outputs, 4 differential or 8 single-ended analog inputs, and 4 analog outputs, allowing different types of field signals to be handled within one module.
The digital inputs support 12 to 30 Vdc source active high signals and include optical isolation. Two blocks of four inputs can be software configured for encoder, counter, or frequency functions. Encoder mode supports Phase A, B, Zero and Machine Zero Index, while counter mode can handle pulse and gate counter inputs with 32bit counters.
The analog section provides individually programmable inputs for industry-standard voltage and current signals, as well as temperature measurement using thermocouples and PT100/RTD transducers. The module supports 12-bit A/D resolution, multiple bipolar and unipolar voltage ranges, 0-20mA and 4-20mA current inputs, and E, J, K, R, S and T thermocouple types.
The four analog outputs can provide either voltage or current signals, making the module suitable for sending control values to compatible equipment. The outputs support single-ended ±10Vdc as well as 0-20mA or 4-20mA current source operation, giving the control system flexibility for different analog devices.
The PLIO03 is designed for industrial environments and includes output protection against overcurrent and over temperature. It uses removable spring-type connectors and carries CE, UL cULus, Class I Div. 2, ATEX, IECEx, DNV-GL, LR, EU MR and RCM approvals, making it suitable for supported industrial, hazardous-area, and marine applications.
