When equipment needs to be monitored continuously for abnormal heat, ordinary visual cameras may not show a problem until damage or visible smoke appears. The FLIR A700f Advanced Smart Sensor 80° is a fixed-mount thermal imaging camera designed to detect temperature differences and support condition monitoring and early fire detection. Instead of relying on visible light, it creates thermal images from infrared radiation and can measure temperatures directly within the monitored scene.
The camera uses a 640 × 480 pixel uncooled microbolometer with a 5 mm lens and an 80° × 63° field of view. This wide viewing angle allows a fixed camera to monitor a broad area from one installation position, while the 0.1 m minimum focus distance allows thermal inspection of relatively close objects. With thermal sensitivity below 50 mK, the camera can detect small differences in temperature, which is useful when monitoring equipment or areas where an increase in heat can indicate a developing issue.
A major purpose of the A700f is temperature measurement rather than thermal imaging alone. It supports several temperature ranges from –20 to 2000°C, with an accuracy of ±2°C or ±2% of the reading. Users can configure spotmeters, boxes, mask polygons, deltas, isotherms, lines and other measurement tools to examine different parts of the thermal scene. Automatic hot and cold detection can also show the maximum or minimum temperature value and its position within a selected box, helping operators identify unusual temperature conditions without manually checking every part of the image.
The camera can also deliver thermal information directly into industrial monitoring systems. RTSP video streaming, H.264, MPEG4 and MJPEG provide standard video options, while radiometric streaming supports FLIR Atlas SDK integration. Industrial protocols including EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP and MQTT allow temperature information to be used by connected automation or monitoring systems. The two digital inputs and three opto-isolated digital outputs can further connect the camera with external equipment and control systems.
For industrial installations, the fixed design is supported by IP67 protection and an operating temperature range of –20°C to +50°C. PoE simplifies installation by providing power through the Ethernet connection, while ONVIF-S, REST API and web interface support integration and management. With its combination of thermal imaging, direct temperature measurement, configurable analysis tools and industrial connectivity, the camera is suited to condition monitoring and early fire detection applications where continuous temperature-based monitoring is required.

We are retiring PICOPC Products MNHO-073, MNHO-048 and MNHO-043 and they have reached EOL (End Of Life) as we are introducing new products with better technology. We would recommend you to look into MNHO-095. For Untangle, pfSense, OPNsense, Windows 11, Proxmox VE etc. we recommend MNHO-095 whereas for Sophos, Kerio Control and Endian, we would recommend MNHO-069. (A complete list of supported OS can be found in each product's listing)
