The Fortinet FortiGate-4800F is a high-performance security appliance designed for enterprise network protection, next-generation firewall (NGFW), intrusion prevention, threat protection, VPN, and SSL inspection applications. Its 4RU rack-mount form factor provides extensive high-speed connectivity and hardware-accelerated interfaces for demanding network environments.
The FortiGate-4800F delivers up to 87 Gbps IPS throughput, 75 Gbps threat protection throughput, and 77 Gbps NGFW throughput. Its IPv4 firewall throughput reaches up to 3.1 Tbps for 1518-byte and 512-byte UDP traffic, while IPsec VPN throughput reaches 1800 Gbps. SSL inspection throughput is rated at 63 Gbps.
For high-density networking, the appliance provides 8 hardware-accelerated 400GE/200GE/100GE/40GE QSFP-DD/QSFP56/QSFP28/QSFP+ slots, 12 hardware-accelerated 200GE/100GE/40GE slots, and 8 hardware-accelerated 50GE/25GE/10GE/GE SFP interfaces. Four additional high-availability and auxiliary SFP slots provide further connectivity options.
The FortiGate-4800F supports up to 280 million/1.8 billion concurrent TCP sessions and up to 915,000/25 million new TCP sessions per second. It also includes two 10GE/GE RJ45 management ports, a USB 3.0 port, and a console port for management and administration.
The appliance uses redundant hot-swappable 2+2 power supplies and operates from 200–240V AC at 50/60Hz. With an average power consumption of 1602W and maximum consumption of 1918.2W, it is designed for enterprise and data center deployments requiring high-performance network security and resilient power operation.
