The Garmin GC 255 is a Full HD marine camera designed for onboard monitoring and integration with compatible chartplotter systems. It provides 1920 x 1080 pixel video and connects to the chartplotter through an IP connection, allowing the camera feed to become part of the vessel's navigation and monitoring setup.
The camera uses a progressive scan system and supports RGB mode full-time for day/night operation. Its 160° horizontal and 90° vertical viewing angles provide a broad field of view, helping operators monitor a large area around the vessel from a single camera position.
The GC 255 also provides selectable viewing modes including FishEye, standard and BirdsEye views. OEM-calibrated distance markers and user-configured guidance lines can add useful visual references to the camera image, helping the operator understand distances and positioning within the displayed scene.
Designed for marine installation, the camera has a high-impact rugged housing and can be installed through the hull or below the rub rail. Its IPX7 water rating provides protection for marine environments, while the -20°C to +60°C operating temperature range supports use across changing onboard conditions.
The camera operates from either 12V or 24V hardwire power and uses H.264 over GMN and BlueNet™ for video output. With plug-and-play setup, a compact flush-mount form factor and included power, network and video connection accessories, the GC 255 is suited to onboard visual monitoring where clean installation and integration with a marine electronics system are important.
