Garmin GPSMAP 8700 (010-02094-00) Marine Black Box Chartplotter System is designed to provide advanced navigation and chartplotting functionality for marine systems using an external display. This black box chartplotter has a compact 15.1" x 7.8" x 1.9" form factor and weighs 3.06 lbs (1.39 kg), making it suitable for installations where space and flexible display configuration are important.

The system supports external display resolutions of 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024, 1920 x 1080, and 1920 x 1200. Since the GPSMAP 8700 has no built-in display, it can be integrated with a compatible external marine display to provide navigation information while allowing the boat's control area to be configured according to the installation requirements.

The Garmin GPSMAP 8700 accepts 2 SD™ cards when used with a Garmin Card Reader and supports up to 5,000 waypoints and 100 navigation routes. Its marine networking capabilities include NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 compatibility, along with 4 NMEA 0183 input (Rx) ports and 4 Garmin Marine Network Ports for connecting compatible marine equipment and systems.

For onboard video and monitoring integration, the chartplotter provides 1 BNC composite and 1 HDMI video input, along with 1 HDMI video output. The system also supports compatible marine technologies and equipment including AIS, DSC, Fusion-Link™ compatible radios, GSD black box sonar, and GCV black box sonar, helping integrate navigation, communication, and sonar functions into a marine electronics system.

With IPX7 water rating and ActiveCaptain® compatibility, the Garmin GPSMAP 8700 is designed for marine installations that require connected navigation and system integration.
