When a boat needs powerful onboard audio, ordinary speakers may not provide the output, durability, or installation flexibility required for a marine environment. The Garmin JL Audio M6 combines an 8.8-inch coaxial speaker design with 125 W RMS power handling, wide frequency response, and integrated LED lighting for marine audio systems where both sound performance and appearance matter.

The Garmin JL Audio M6 is an 8.8-inch coaxial marine speaker designed to deliver full-range audio from a single speaker assembly. Its coaxial construction combines the main speaker and tweeter in one unit, making it suitable for onboard entertainment systems where installation space needs to be used efficiently.
With 125 W continuous power handling and a recommended amplifier range of 50-250 W per channel, the speaker is designed for systems requiring strong audio output. Its 90.5 dB sensitivity helps produce useful sound levels from the available amplifier power, while the 38 Hz-25 kHz frequency response covers a broad range of low, mid, and high-frequency audio.
The speaker uses an injection-molded, mica-filled polypropylene cone and a silk dome tweeter. These components provide the speaker configuration specified for the M6 while maintaining a compact coaxial design. The 4 Ω nominal impedance allows it to be matched with compatible marine amplifiers and audio systems.
The White Sport version also includes Transflective™ LED lighting, with the LED system supplied on selected Sport models. The LED supply voltage is 10-14.4 VDC, with the 8.8-inch model drawing 486 mA at 14.4 VDC at maximum LED load. This provides integrated lighting without requiring a separate lighting fixture around the speaker.
Installation is supported through spade speaker connectors and a dedicated LED flying lead with 4-conductor 20 AWG wire on selected Sport models. The speaker has a 5-inch mounting depth clearance, a 7.375-inch mounting hole, and a 7.97-inch bolt hole circle, allowing installers to plan the required mounting space before installation.
