Huawei OptiXstar B866G-S2 is a Main FTTR Optical Network Unit designed to provide flexible fiber connectivity through XGS-PON/GPON Combo network-side access. It combines high-speed fiber networking with Wi-Fi 7, Ethernet, POTS, PON, and USB connectivity for advanced indoor broadband deployments.
The Huawei OptiXstar B866G-S2 supports 2.5GE Combo interfaces, 4 GE ports, 4 POTS ports, 1 PON port, Wi-Fi 7, and USB 2.0. Its combo interface supports 10 Mbit/s, 100 Mbit/s, 1000 Mbit/s, and 2500 Mbit/s auto-sensing optical or electrical connectivity, with only one interface operating at a time.
With XGS-PON and GPON Combo support, the B866G-S2 can provide flexible fiber access for FTTR networks and broadband environments requiring different PON technologies. XGS-PON supports 9.953 Gbit/s upstream and downstream transmission, while GPON provides symmetric and asymmetric transmission options for diverse network requirements.
The integrated Wi-Fi 7 platform supports IEEE 802.11ax/be across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands with 2x2 MIMO, multiple SSIDs, and air interface rates of up to 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz. This makes the unit suitable for delivering wireless connectivity across indoor residential and broadband access environments.
The Huawei OptiXstar B866G-S2 also supports Type B single-homing and dual-homing protection on the XGS-PON/GPON upstream interface. Its indoor installation options include desktop, wall, 19-inch cabinet, and indoor network box deployment, providing flexibility for FTTR and fiber access installations.
