Huawei OptiXstar T823E-D is an industrial Optical Network Unit designed to provide fiber-based connectivity for industrial networking and automation environments. It supports 2 x GPON/XGS-PON NNI interfaces and 8 x GE PoE++ ports, combining optical access, powered Ethernet, and industrial interfaces in a DIN guide rail installation design.
The T823E-D supports XGS-PON and GPON through its SC/UPC PON port, with a maximum transmission distance of 20 km. XGS-PON provides RX and TX transmission rates of 9.953 Gbit/s, while GPON supports 2.488 Gbit/s RX and 1.244 Gbit/s TX, providing flexible optical access for different network requirements.
Its 8 GE Ethernet ports support PoE++ and comply with IEEE 802.3af, IEEE 802.3at, and IEEE 802.3bt standards. Each GE port can consume up to 60 W, with a total maximum PoE power consumption of 220 W, making the Huawei OptiXstar T823E-D suitable for powering compatible industrial network devices directly over Ethernet.
The industrial ONU also integrates 2 RS485 ports, 2 RS232 ports, 2 digital inputs, 1 digital output, and 1 USB 2.0 Type-A host port. These interfaces support connections to industrial equipment, sensors, alarm devices, and other field devices, helping consolidate communication and control connectivity within industrial networks.
Designed for industrial deployment, the T823E-D uses DIN guide rail installation and supports 802.1X authentication. Its Ethernet and DC power ports include surge protection, while the combination of GPON/XGS-PON access, PoE++, serial interfaces, and DI/DO connectivity provides a versatile platform for industrial communication and network applications.
