iDirect MCX8000 Multi-Carrier Satellite Gateway
The iDirect MCX8000 Multi-Carrier Satellite Gateway is designed for satellite networks that need multiple DVB carriers from a single gateway platform. It supports multiple modem configurations and provides flexible carrier capacity for satellite backhaul, broadband, broadcast, and managed VSAT networks.
The MCX8000 supports DVB-S2X, DVB-S2, DVB-DSNG, and DVB-S standards with modulation options from QPSK through 256APSK. It offers symbol rates from 256 ksps to 133 Msps and data rates up to 550 Mbps for high-capacity satellite transmission.
The gateway can support up to 2 DVB-S2X carrier modulators with a single modem board or up to 4 carrier modulators with a dual modem board. The dual modem configuration can also provide integrated 1+1 redundancy, helping support continuous satellite gateway operations.
For IP and transport stream connectivity, the MCX8000 provides auto-switching 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet, VLAN support, TS over IP using UDP/RTP, and optional ASI interfaces. Multi-stream CCM or VCM operation with ISSY and SMPTE 2022-7 seamless protection switching provide flexible transport stream handling.
The 1RU, 19-inch gateway supports L-Band and IF outputs, optional AES encryption/decryption, BISS-1 and BISS-2 scrambling, external and optional internal reference options, and web, SNMP, and RESTful API management. Its compact rack design makes it suitable for satellite teleport, broadcast, broadband, and enterprise satellite infrastructure.
