Intellian v85NX 85cm Ku-Ka Convertible Maritime VSAT Antenna System
The Intellian v85NX is an 85cm convertible maritime VSAT antenna system designed to provide reliable satellite connectivity for vessels operating at sea. It features an 85cm reflector and a stabilized 3-axis platform for accurate satellite tracking while the vessel is moving. The system supports Ku-band transmission and reception, making it suitable for maritime communication and broadband connectivity applications.
With unlimited azimuth movement, -20° to +115° elevation, and ±37° cross-level movement, the antenna can maintain satellite alignment across a wide range of vessel motion. Its stabilization accuracy is specified at 0.2° peak mis-pointing under maximum ship motion conditions, helping maintain a stable satellite link during changing sea conditions.
The v85NX provides 40.7 dBi transmit gain at 14.25 GHz and 38.9 dBi receive gain at 11.7 GHz, excluding the radome. It supports a Ku-band transmit frequency range of 13.75 to 14.5 GHz and a receive frequency range of 10.7 to 12.75 GHz. Optional 8W, 16W, and 25W BUC configurations provide flexibility for different satellite communication requirements.
The included Antenna Control Unit provides system management and modem connectivity through Ethernet, RS-232C, RS-422C, and I/O console interfaces. It supports multiple modem protocols, including iNewtec, Direct, Comtech, SatLink, Hughes, GILAT, and Newtec. Remote management and Wi-Fi operation with a Wi-Fi dongle support convenient system configuration and monitoring.
The Intellian v85NX is suitable for maritime VSAT connectivity on commercial vessels, offshore platforms, workboats, and other marine environments requiring stabilized satellite communications. Its radome measures 123 cm in height and 113 cm in diameter, while the complete Above Deck Unit weighs 96 kg. The system operates from 100 to 240 V AC and includes NMEA2000/NMEA0183 gyrocompass interfaces for integration with vessel navigation systems.
