The Kymeta HAWK u8 GEO Satcom Terminal (700-00230-000) is a full-duplex Ku-band hybrid satellite antenna system designed for reliable satellite communication. It uses a single-aperture flat-panel antenna with electronically steered holographic beam-forming technology, providing flexible satellite connectivity without traditional mechanical antenna movement.
The antenna supports 360° azimuth scanning and elevation from +15° to +90°, allowing broad coverage for GEO satellite communication. Its software-defined linear polarization is also circular capable, while the receive band covers 10.70 GHz to 12.75 GHz and the transmit band operates from 13.75 GHz to 14.50 GHz.
For satellite performance, the HAWK u8 provides a broadside G/T of 9 dB/K to 12 dB/K and broadside EIRP of 45.5 dBW to 46.5 dBW. It also provides typical cross-polarization isolation of at least 25 dB. The terminal includes an embedded iDirect iQ 200 satellite modem and uses Ethernet for connectivity.
The Kymeta HAWK u8 is built for demanding outdoor environments, with an IP66 ingress protection rating and an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +55 °C ambient. With solar load, it can operate up to +70 °C. The unit measures 89.5 × 89.5 × 14 cm and weighs 30.4 kg.
