When a boat needs reliable radar visibility around harbors, offshore routes, changing weather, or busy waterways, the radar system needs to provide useful target information while remaining compact enough for a vessel’s existing electronics setup. The Lowrance HALO24 is designed for marine navigation with a 48 NM maximum range, rapid antenna rotation, multiple radar modes, and integration with Lowrance multifunction displays.
Lowrance HALO24, 48nm Range 24-inch Dome Marine Radar
The Lowrance HALO24 is a 24-inch dome marine radar designed to help boat operators detect and monitor targets around the vessel. Its pulse compression radar technology provides a maximum range scale of 48 NM, giving the system useful coverage for both closer navigation and longer-range situational awareness.
The radar can operate at rotation speeds of up to 60 RPM, with the actual speed depending on the range setting. This rapid rotation helps refresh radar information quickly, which is useful when monitoring moving vessels, coastal features, and other targets while underway. The system also provides a minimum range scale of 50 m / 200 ft / 50 yd for closer-range awareness.
Different radar modes allow the HALO24 to be adapted to different operating conditions. Harbour and Offshore modes can support different navigation environments, while Weather and Bird modes are available for specific monitoring needs. Dual Range and selectable North Up, Course Up, Relative Motion, and True Motion modes provide additional ways to view radar information.
The 3.9° horizontal beam width and 22° vertical beam width support target detection around the vessel, while the 2° target separation specification on high helps distinguish targets that are close together. The radar is also designed for demanding marine conditions, with an IPX6 waterproof rating, operation from -25° to +55°C, and 95% RH at 35°C.
With a 10.5 to 31.2 VDC supply range, the HALO24 can operate on both 12 V and 24 V marine electrical systems. Its typical power consumption is 20 W and maximum consumption is 29 W, while the compact 610 mm diameter dome and 6.75 kg weight make it practical for installation on a range of vessels. Ethernet connectivity provides connection to a Lowrance MFD for integrated marine navigation and radar operation.
