The Moxa EDS-4012-4GS-LV is a 12-port managed Ethernet switch built for industrial network infrastructure. It provides eight 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 ports for copper Ethernet connections and four 100/1000BaseSFP ports for fiber or other SFP-based links. This combination allows the switch to connect local industrial devices while also providing higher-speed uplink or longer-distance network connections where required.

As a managed switch, the EDS-4012-4GS-LV provides network management capabilities for organizing and controlling connected devices. Its 16 K MAC table, support for up to 256 VLANs, 512 IGMP groups, four priority queues, and 9.216 KB jumbo frame size provide the switching capacity needed for structured industrial Ethernet networks. These features can help separate network traffic, prioritize important data, and support applications that depend on reliable multicast or larger Ethernet frames.

The switch also includes industrial control and monitoring interfaces beyond its Ethernet ports. An RS-232 console port provides local configuration access, while the digital input and relay alarm contact can be connected to external equipment for status monitoring and event notification. LED indicators provide information for power, system state, faults, redundancy roles, and synchronization, while the reset button and DIP switch configuration provide additional local controls.

Reliable power is important in industrial installations, so the EDS-4012-4GS-LV supports redundant dual DC power inputs and a wide 9.6 to 60 VDC operating range. The installed PWR-100–LV power module supports 12/24/48 VDC input operation, while overload current and reverse polarity protection help protect the switch from common power-related conditions. Its modular power design also allows the power module configuration to determine the applicable power specifications for the installed model.

The compact metal housing is designed for industrial installation, with DIN-rail mounting as the standard installation method and optional wall mounting. Its IP40 rating, -10 to 60°C operating temperature range, 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity tolerance, and 827 g weight make it suitable for control cabinets, machinery networks, automation systems, and other industrial Ethernet installations where managed switching and redundant DC power are required.
