The Moxa EDS-G4012-4GC-LV is a managed Ethernet switch designed for industrial networks that need Gigabit communication across multiple connected devices. It provides 8 dedicated 10/100/1000BaseT(X) RJ45 ports and 4 combo ports that can operate as 10/100/1000BaseT(X) or 100/1000BaseSFP. This combination gives users flexibility when connecting copper-based equipment and fiber network links.

The RJ45 ports support auto negotiation, auto MDI/MDI-X, and full or half duplex operation, helping connected Ethernet devices communicate without requiring manual configuration of these basic link parameters. The switch also provides a 16 K MAC table, support for up to 256 VLANs, 512 IGMP groups, 4 priority queues, and a 1 MB packet buffer. These functions help organize traffic across a managed industrial network.

For network administration and industrial control, the switch includes an RS-232 console port, a reserved USB Type A connector, one alarm contact, and one digital input. The reset button and DIP switch configuration provide access to functions including Turbo Ring, Master, Coupler, and Reserve. These interfaces make the switch suitable for installations where network status, industrial connectivity, and local control functions need to be available from the same device.

The EDS-G4012-4GC-LV is built around dual redundant DC inputs and supports 12/24/48 VDC input voltage with an operating range of 9.6 to 60 VDC. It has overload current and reverse polarity protection, while the metal housing and IP40 rating provide protection for industrial cabinet installations. DIN-rail mounting is supported as standard, with wall mounting available using an optional kit.

The switch operates from -10 to 60°C and can be stored from -40 to 85°C, with 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity.
