When a mobile machine or vehicle requires compact electronic control for multiple sensors, actuators, and communication networks, a conventional controller may not provide enough I/O in a small enclosure. The MRS Electronics CC16WP is designed as a compact I/O controller for this type of application, combining analog inputs, PWM-capable outputs, CAN communication, LIN, and serial connectivity in one rugged unit.
The CC16WP provides a combination of inputs and outputs for connecting sensors and controlling electrical loads. It has 7 analog inputs and 8 I/Os with analog input capability, giving the controller flexibility for monitoring different signals while also supporting output functions.
Its 8 high-side outputs are PWM capable and include integrated current measurement through INA. With a switching current of 3 A at 85°C, these outputs can be used for controlling connected electrical loads while monitoring the output current. This combination of control and measurement helps support applications where accurate load handling is important.
For machine communication, the controller provides 2 CAN interfaces, including support for CAN FD, along with a LIN interface and serial interface. These communication options allow the CC16WP to exchange information with other controllers, sensors, and electronic devices within a distributed machine control system.
The compact enclosure measures 60 × 77 × 30 mm and uses a PA66GF30 housing with IP6K8 protection. Its -40 to +85°C temperature range and 9-32 V operating voltage make it suitable for electrically and environmentally demanding mobile applications where compact size and rugged construction are important.
Programming is supported through MRS Applics Studio, while the 32-bit processor architecture provides the controller platform for handling its I/O and communication functions. With its combination of analog inputs, PWM outputs, CAN, LIN, serial communication, and rugged protection, the CC16WP can serve as a compact control and I/O interface within vehicle and mobile machine systems.

We are retiring PICOPC Products MNHO-073, MNHO-048 and MNHO-043 and they have reached EOL (End Of Life) as we are introducing new products with better technology. We would recommend you to look into MNHO-095. For Untangle, pfSense, OPNsense, Windows 11, Proxmox VE etc. we recommend MNHO-095 whereas for Sophos, Kerio Control and Endian, we would recommend MNHO-069. (A complete list of supported OS can be found in each product's listing)
