Oscilloquartz OSA 5405-O Smart Antenna GNSS Receiver & PTP Grandmaster Clock
The Oscilloquartz OSA 5405-O is a smart antenna, GNSS receiver, and PTP grandmaster server designed to provide precise timing and synchronization for modern network infrastructure. Its compact design combines GNSS reception, PTP, SyncE, and NTP functions in a single solution for telecom, enterprise, broadcast, and other timing-sensitive applications.
The OSA 5405-O features dual independent 72-channel multi-constellation GNSS receivers and supports GPS/QZSS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and SBAS. With support for up to three concurrent GNSS constellations and GNSS accuracy within +/-100nsec from UTC, it provides accurate timing for distributed network equipment and synchronization systems.
The device operates as an IEEE 1588-2008 PTP grandmaster, boundary, and slave clock, supporting multiple PTP profiles along with IPv4 and IPv6 simultaneously. It supports both 1-step and 2-step clock operation and up to 64 unicast slaves @ 128 pps, making it suitable for precise synchronization across telecom and enterprise networks.
SyncE is supported on ingress and egress, with Sync-E input available for time holdover during GNSS outages. When locked to GNSS, the OSA 5405-O functions as a Stratum 1 NTP server and supports NTP v1, v2, v3, v4 and SNTP over IPv4/IPv6, with performance of up to 500,000 transactions per second.
The outdoor-ready design includes an IEC 60529 IP66 enclosure and supports operating temperatures from -40 to +70°C. With wall-mount or pole-mount installation, low maximum power consumption of 3W without SFP, and a compact 490g form factor, the OSA 5405-O is suitable for network timing, telecommunications, power, broadcast, and other synchronization deployments.
