PacketLight PL-4000M, 600G High Capacity MuxPonder/Transponder
The PacketLight PL-4000M is a 600G high capacity muxponder/transponder designed for optical transport networks that need flexible service aggregation and high-speed DWDM connectivity. It supports a single 400G muxponder configuration, with client interfaces aggregated into a 400G uplink, as well as dual 100/200/300G muxponder configurations.
The platform supports a wide range of client services, including 10GbE, 25GbE, 100GbE, 16G/32G Fibre Channel, and OTU2/2e/4. QSFP28, SFP+, and SFP28 optical interfaces provide flexibility for connecting different client equipment and optical network services.
For DWDM applications, the PL-4000M provides dual CFP2-DCO 400G uplinks with DWDM ITU-T G.694.1 grid tuneability and C-band flex-grid support. It supports oFEC and multiple modulation options including 400G 16QAM, 300G 8QAM, 200G QPSK, and 100G DEQPSK, with specified optical performance for long-distance transmission.
The system can be equipped with up to two optional EDFA optical amplifier modules and an optional 1+1 optical switch for facility protection. It also provides a single QSFP-DD FR4/LR4 uplink for non-DWDM applications, while amplifier operating modes include automatic gain control and automatic power control.
The PL-4000M provides extensive network management and monitoring capabilities through Ethernet, SFP, serial, and external alarm interfaces. It supports multiple management protocols, hitless traffic software upgrades, optical and OTN performance monitoring, Layer 1 and Layer 2 performance monitoring, and hot-swappable power and cooling components for reliable optical transport deployments.
