The Pelco EXC2602-62 is a 6MP explosion-proof camera designed for detailed video monitoring where reliable surveillance is required in demanding environments. Its 1/1.8" progressive scan CMOS sensor produces images up to 3200 × 1800 pixels, giving operators more image detail for observing people, equipment, vehicles, and activity across monitored areas. Unlike a thermal camera, this model uses visible and monochrome imaging, making it suitable when recognizable visual details are important.

The camera uses a 4.9-8 mm F1.8 lens with remote focus and zoom, allowing the viewing area and focus to be adjusted without physically accessing the camera. Its horizontal field of view ranges from 52° to 92°, while the vertical field of view ranges from 29° to 51°. This makes the camera useful for both broader scene monitoring and closer observation of selected areas. The 0.5 m minimum focus distance also supports monitoring relatively close objects.

Lighting conditions can change significantly during continuous surveillance, especially between daytime and nighttime. The EXC2602-62 supports a mechanical IR cut filter with automatic and manual day/night control, while its minimum illumination is 0.055 lux in color mode and 0.028 lux in monochrome mode. WDR can provide up to 120 dB when enabled, helping the camera handle scenes containing both bright and darker areas. Automatic or manual white balance, adjustable backlight compensation, electronic shutter control, and 3D noise reduction provide additional image-control options.

The explosion-proof construction is important for installations where the camera must operate in demanding industrial environments. The camera and bracket use AISI 316L stainless steel with an electro-polished surface, while the housing includes a built-in heater and fan for environmental control. It supports 24 VDC, 24 VAC, or PoE+, network connectivity through 100BASE-TX and RJ45, and local MicroSD storage up to 2 TB. These features make it suitable for continuous video surveillance in industrial and hazardous-area applications where both image detail and robust construction are required.
