The Pelco EXRE2-VF09-E0A00 is an explosion-proof thermal bullet camera that uses a 640 x 512 uncooled VOx microbolometer to capture thermal information. Instead of depending on visible illumination, the camera detects infrared energy in the 8μm to 14μm spectral range and converts those heat differences into an image. This makes thermal monitoring useful for identifying people, objects, equipment, and other temperature-related changes in environments where conventional cameras may not provide enough visual information.

The camera provides up to 30 fps on supported models and includes a NETD of ≤50 mK, with ≤40 mK available on 30 fps models when Frame Averager is enabled. Multiple thermal palettes such as White Hot, Black Hot, Rainbow, IronBow, Lava, and Hottest allow operators to view thermal information in different ways. Automatic flat field correction, 3D noise reduction, electronic image stabilization, and image uniformity optimization help maintain a clearer and more consistent thermal picture during continuous monitoring.

For network-based surveillance, the camera supports multi-stream H.264, H.265, and Motion JPEG together with Pelco Smart Compression and idle scene mode for bandwidth management. Motion detection can identify pixels and classified objects, while tamper detection and up to 64 privacy zones provide additional monitoring and security functions. ONVIF Profile S, T, G, and M compliance also supports integration with compatible video management and security systems.

The stainless-steel construction is important when the camera is installed in demanding environments. Its AISI 316L stainless steel body, electro-polished surface, stainless-steel sunshield, and wide operating temperature range of -50°C to +65°C support use in harsh outdoor conditions. Power can be supplied through 12 VDC, 24 VAC, or IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE, while alarm I/O, audio I/O, and SD card support provide additional options for local and integrated surveillance setups.
