When a surveillance installation needs a camera that can be adapted to different viewing requirements, a fixed all-in-one camera may not always be suitable. The Pelco SRXE4P-2-IBX-1-B is a box-style network IP camera designed for flexible video surveillance where the lens can be selected separately according to the required scene and viewing distance. This makes it useful for installations where different lens configurations may be needed for different areas.

The camera uses a 1/2.8" progressive CMOS sensor and produces images up to 1920 x 1080. Because the lens is sold separately, the camera can be paired with compatible iCS and CS lenses rather than being limited to one built-in focal length. This box-style design can be useful when the installer needs to configure the field of view around a particular scene, distance, or mounting position.

Its imaging system is designed to maintain useful video across changing lighting conditions. WDR and SureVision Technology help the camera handle difficult scenes with bright and dark areas, while automatic or manual day/night control allows the imaging behavior to be adjusted for different environments. The camera can also provide up to 60 fps, which is useful when smoother video is required for monitoring movement.

For security monitoring, the camera provides pixel motion detection and classified object detection, along with camera tamper detection and additional analytics. These functions can help surveillance systems identify activity and distinguish relevant movement from general changes in the scene. Image rotation, including Corridor Mode, also allows the camera to be configured for vertically oriented areas such as narrow entrances, corridors, and passageways.

As a network IP camera, the SRXE4P-2-IBX-1-B supports 1000BASE-T networking, ONVIF Profile S, Profile T, Profile M and Profile G, and multiple video streams using H.264, H.265, Motion JPEG and Pelco Smart Compression. Two microSD card slots provide onboard recording, while USB 2.0, relay I/O and RS-485 provide additional connection options. PoE simplifies installation by allowing network connectivity and power through the same connection, while redundant power provides seamless failover between PoE and auxiliary power without interrupting camera operation.
