When outdoor areas need reliable surveillance during both daylight and complete darkness, a camera needs to maintain useful images without depending on visible lighting. The Pelco SRXE4P-4V9-EBT is a 4.0MP IR bullet camera designed for this type of continuous monitoring. Its image sensor provides detailed video during the day, while integrated infrared illumination supports monochrome imaging when there is little or no visible light.

The camera uses a 1/2.8” progressive scan CMOS sensor with a maximum resolution of 2688 x 1520. Its WDR capability helps handle scenes where bright and dark areas appear together, such as entrances, outdoor pathways, building edges, and areas facing changing sunlight. This allows the camera to retain useful image details when lighting conditions are difficult instead of relying only on normal exposure.

For nighttime surveillance, the camera uses high power 850 nm LEDs to provide IR illumination up to 70 m at full tele and 40 m at full wide. With IR enabled, the minimum illumination is 0 lux in monochrome mode, making the camera suitable for areas where visible light is unavailable. The 4.4 - 9.3 mm lens also provides remote zoom and focus with autofocus, allowing operators to adjust the viewing area without physically reaching the camera.

The camera is designed for network-based monitoring and can provide multiple video streams using H.264, H.265, Motion JPEG and Pelco Smart Compression. Pixel motion detection and classified object detection can help identify activity, while tamper detection, electronic image stabilization, digital defog and privacy zones support more controlled surveillance. Two microSD card slots provide onboard storage, while ONVIF Profile S, Profile T, Profile M and Profile G support integration with compatible video management systems.

For outdoor installations, the bullet design combines polycarbonate and aluminum construction with a backbox mount. Its operating temperature range of -50°C to +65°C and 0 - 100% non-condensing humidity specification support use in demanding outdoor environments. PoE and external power options provide installation flexibility, while redundant power on SRXE4P allows seamless failover between PoE and auxiliary power without interrupting camera operation. These features make the camera suitable for outdoor building security, perimeter monitoring, entrances, industrial sites and other areas requiring day-and-night network surveillance.
