The Raymarine CAM220IP is a 2MP network eyeball video camera designed for day and night marine video monitoring. Its 1/2.8” Sony CMOS Exmor image sensor and progressive scan system provide digital video capture, while the True Day / Night function uses an ICR filter changer to adapt the camera for changing lighting conditions.
For low-light monitoring, the camera can operate at 0 Lux when the IR LEDs are on. Four built-in LEDs provide an I2 distance of 20 m (65.6 ft.), helping illuminate nearby areas when natural light is insufficient. The 3.6 mm megapixel board lens provides a fixed viewing angle for monitoring the surrounding area.
The camera supports video up to 1920 x 1080 Full HD, with H.264 High Profile and Motion JPEG compression. Multi-streaming allows H.264 and MJPEG streams to be used, while H.264 can provide 30fps at 1920 x 1080p. This makes the camera suitable for network-based monitoring where live video needs to be viewed through compatible onboard systems.
The compact eyeball form factor is useful when installation space is limited. With a base diameter of 99.2 mm, overall height of 80.7 mm and an unboxed weight of 0.55 kg, the camera can be integrated into various onboard mounting locations without requiring a large camera enclosure.
The CAM220IP is designed for marine environmental conditions, with IPX6 and IPX7 weatherproof protection, an operating temperature range of –10°C to 50°C and 95% relative humidity. It can operate from 12 V dc and also supports PoE Class 2 through 802.3af, providing flexible power options for networked marine surveillance installations.
