Sierra Wireless AirLink XR90 High-Performance Dual 5G Vehicle Router
Sierra Wireless AirLink XR90 is a high-performance vehicle router designed for demanding mobile connectivity applications. With dual 5G capability, Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit and 5 Gigabit Ethernet options, GNSS with dead reckoning, and vehicle interfaces, it provides a robust networking platform for connected transportation and mobile deployments.
The XR90 supports dual 4x4 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6 with a peak throughput of 2400 Mbps, along with Access Point and Client operating modes. Support for up to 128 Wi-Fi clients per radio and four SSIDs per radio enables flexible wireless connectivity for vehicle occupants and connected equipment.
For wired networking, the dual 5G configuration provides four Gigabit Ethernet ports and one 5 Gigabit Ethernet port. The router also includes GNSS with dead reckoning, CAN bus/OBD-II, GPIO, USB 3.1 USB-C, and optional RS-232 connectivity, supporting integration with vehicle and industrial systems.
The sealed aluminum housing is IP64 rated and designed for demanding environments, with an operating temperature range of -30°C to +70°C. MIL-STD-810G support covers shock, vibration, thermal shock, and humidity, while vehicle and hazardous-environment certifications support specialized deployments.
With AirLink OS and ALMS management, the XR90 provides routing, firewall, policy-based routing, LAN segmentation, secure firmware updates, and IPsec VPN capabilities. It delivers up to 1150 Mbps firewall TCP throughput and 350 Mbps IPSec VPN TCP throughput for secure, managed vehicle networking.
The AirLink XR90 is suitable for connected vehicles, transportation fleets, public safety, rail applications, industrial mobile networking, and other deployments requiring reliable high-performance wireless connectivity. Its 7–36 VDC input and built-in protection against voltage transients, engine cranking, and load dump support vehicle power environments.
