The Smartoptics DCP-404 is a 400G muxponder designed to combine four 100GbE client connections into a 400Gbps line interface. It uses QSFP28 client interfaces and a QSFP-DD line interface, providing a compact solution for high-capacity Layer 1 optical networking.

The DCP-404 supports a wide range of 100G client optics, including SR4, LR4, CWDM4, ER4, ZR4, DR, FR, LR, FRx, and LRx QSFP28 interfaces. This broad client-side compatibility provides flexibility when connecting different 100GbE network equipment.

On the line side, the muxponder supports 400G OpenZR+ in both high-power and low-power versions, 100G OpenZR+, as well as 400G LR4, DR4, FR4, and ER4 Lite interfaces. Multiple traffic combinations are also supported, including 4 x 100GbE at 400G, 3 x 100GbE at 300G, 2 x 100GbE at 200G, and 1 x 100GbE at 100G.

For network operations, the DCP-404 provides CLI, SSH, SNMPv2c, SNMPv3, NTP, SFTP, Syslog, RADIUS, and TACACS+ management. Software features include traffic hitless software upgrades, performance monitoring, link loss forwarding, client in-loop and out-loop, Ethernet PM with BIP error counter, G.826 PM, and Layer 1 AES-256 GCM encryption with Diffie-Hellman key exchange.

The compact 44 x 205 x 270 mm design weighs 1.8 kg and has typical power consumption of 56W at 220VAC. It operates from 0°C to +45°C with front-to-back cooling and supports 5% to 85% humidity, making it suitable for space-conscious optical transport and aggregation deployments.
