DCP-M is a true open line DWDM platform designed specifically for modern DCI. DCP-M has the form factor and usability of a passive multiplexer, but unlike a passive multiplexer it monitors the traffic, amplifies the signals for longer distances and can handle higher data rate protocols. DCP-M provides everything required for an open line system and is simple, reliable and open for all DCI protocol types. DCP-M offers an unparalleled level of plug and play simplicity regardless of traffic type and network application. The DCP-M family comprises different models for either 32 or 40 channels, dedicated for either 100G DWDM PAM4, 400ZR, 800G or for applications with any mix of PAM4, NRZ and coherent 100/400G channels.

The Smartoptics DCP-M40-CSO-ZR+ is a 40-channel DWDM Open Line System designed for metro DWDM, data center interconnect, and dark fiber connectivity. Its 1RU form factor provides a compact platform for high-capacity optical transport while supporting both NRZ and coherent optical encoding technologies.

The system supports NRZ encoding for 1-10G and coherent encoding for 100-400G using QPSK, 8QAM, and 16QAM. It supports 1/10/40/100/200/400G Ethernet protocols, providing flexible connectivity for different network services and transport requirements.

The DCP-M40-CSO-ZR+ provides 40 individual DWDM client channels from D921 to D960, along with a line input/output port, 1510nm OSC port, and 1625nm external OTDR port. All optical ports use LC connectors, while an SFP port is provided for OSC/OTDR functions.

For network management, the system provides RS-232, RJ-45 local craft, multiple management ports, and an SFP management port. CLI, SSH, SNMPv2c, SNMPv3, NTP, SFTP, Syslog, RADIUS, TACACS+, and gNMI from R13.x are supported, with traffic hitless software upgrades for service continuity.

The 1RU chassis measures 440mm x 510mm and uses front-to-back cooling. It provides dual hot-swappable power supplies and a redundant hot-swappable fan unit, with operating temperatures from 0°C to +45°C and support for fiber link loss from 0 to 27 dB with OpenZR+ 400G 16-QAM.
