Smartoptics DCP-M8-PAM4 8 Channel DWDM PAM4 Open Line System (0-80 km)
The Smartoptics DCP-M8-PAM4 is an 8-channel DWDM open line system designed for metro DWDM, data center interconnect (DCI), and dark fiber connectivity. It supports PAM4 encoding for 40G and 100G optical transport applications.
The system supports 40G and 100G Ethernet protocols, providing a practical DWDM platform for high-speed network connectivity. Its eight DWDM client channels cover D944 to D951, with all optical ports using LC connectors.
The DCP-M8-PAM4 includes a line input/output port along with individual client Tx/Rx indicators and line Tx/Rx status monitoring. The system also provides multiple management and console interfaces, including RJ45 management, SFP management, RS-232 serial, and local craft connectivity.
For network administration, the system supports CLI, SSH, SNMPv2c, SNMPv3, NTP, SFTP, Syslog, RADIUS, and TACACS+. Traffic hitless software upgrades help support software maintenance while minimizing service disruption.
The 1RU chassis measures 440mm x 510mm and weighs 13 Kg. It uses dual hot-swappable power supplies and a redundant hot-swappable fan unit, with front-to-back cooling. The system supports fiber distances from 0 to 80 km and fiber link loss from 0 to 18 dB using G.652 (SMF-28) fiber.
