When a vessel needs a computer for onboard monitoring or marine software but has limited space inside a control cabinet, a full-size PC can be unnecessarily difficult to install. The Terasaki EMB-7050 is a compact marine computer designed for onboard applications where installation space is limited but a dedicated computing platform is still required. It uses an Intel® Atom™ Quad Core processor with 4GB of memory and a removable 64GB SSD, providing a practical platform for marine software, monitoring applications, equipment management, and data handling.

The computer runs Windows® 10 IoT Enterprise 2016 LTSB (64bit), giving users a familiar operating environment for compatible marine applications. Its removable SSD also provides a practical storage arrangement when the computer needs to be serviced or storage needs to be handled separately.

For equipment connectivity, the EMB-7050 provides one RS232C serial interface, two USB2.0 ports, one USB3.0 port, and two 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet ports. These interfaces allow the mini computer to connect with onboard network equipment, serial devices, USB peripherals, and other marine systems that require wired communication.

The system also provides DVI-D and HDMI display outputs with a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA). This allows operators to connect compatible displays for viewing marine software, monitoring information, and other system interfaces without requiring a separate computing platform.

The EMB-7050 operates from 24VDC with maximum consumption of 36W and is designed for an operating environment of 0 to 55℃ with 96% non-condensing humidity. Its compact 248(W) x 43(H) x 180(D) mm dimensions and 2.1 kg weight make it suitable for space-constrained installations, while the watchdog timer, CPU temperature rise detection, internal temperature detection, and internal voltage detection provide RAS monitoring functions. Its NK, ABS, DNV GL, BV, CCS, and LR certificates further support its marine-oriented design.
