thinkRF D4000 24-40GHz 500 MHz RTBW RF Downconverter
The thinkRF D4000 is a high-frequency RF downconverter and tuner designed to convert signals in the 24 to 40 GHz range to a 1.536 GHz intermediate frequency output. It provides a 500 MHz real-time bandwidth, making it suitable for RF monitoring, signal analysis, spectrum measurement, and other applications that require wideband microwave signal conversion.
With a 100 kHz tuning resolution, the D4000 provides flexible frequency selection across its operating range. Its typical amplitude accuracy of ±1.5 dB at the IF output and typical noise figure below 12 dB support consistent signal conversion for demanding RF measurement and analysis systems.
The downconverter offers a typical third-order intercept of greater than 15 dBm and a spurious-free dynamic range greater than 115 dBc. These characteristics make it suitable for applications where signal integrity and dynamic range are important, including RF test systems, spectrum monitoring, wireless research, and high-frequency communications development.
The D4000 includes a 2.92 mm female 50 Ω RF input and an SMA female 50 Ω IF output, along with SMA connectors for 10 MHz reference input and output. Ethernet connectivity through a 10/100/1000 RJ45 interface supports SCPI control over Ethernet, allowing the unit to integrate with automated RF test and measurement environments.
Its compact 193 × 193 × 41 mm form factor and approximately 1.7 kg weight allow the D4000 to fit into space-conscious RF equipment setups. With an operating temperature range of -10°C to +55°C and support for external 10 MHz reference synchronization, it provides a practical solution for professional microwave signal conversion and RF instrumentation applications.
