The Topicon MDT865, 4GB/64GB 8" Rugged Android Vehicle Tablet is designed for mobile computing in demanding vehicle and field environments where durability, visibility, connectivity, and reliable operation are important. Its 8-inch IPS display provides 1280 x 800 resolution with 1000 nits high brightness, anti-glare viewing, and capacitive multi-touch support for glove and wet modes. The rugged construction makes it suitable for applications that require dependable tablet operation during transportation, logistics, fleet management, and field service activities.

Powered by an MTK platform 2.0GHz Octa-Core Processor with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB eMMC storage, the MDT865 provides a practical platform for Android-based vehicle applications. It supports Android 12 or Android 14 with GMS / Non-GMS, while the user-accessible MicroSD card slot supports up to 512GB for additional storage. These capabilities make the tablet suitable for navigation, mobile data access, digital workflows, vehicle monitoring, and other operational applications.

The tablet provides multiple wireless and positioning capabilities for connected vehicle use. Dual-band Wi-Fi supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks, while Bluetooth V5.0 provides wireless connectivity for compatible peripherals. Cellular connectivity supports GSM, WCDMA, LTE FDD, and LTE TDD bands, while the high sensitivity GPS, GLONASS, and GALILEO receiver supports positioning applications. An external GPS antenna can also be connected through the MMCX connector when required.

The MDT865 also supports vehicle-focused interfaces and camera functions for monitoring and data collection. It includes a 20MP autofocus rear camera with flashlight, AHD and analog camera support, and optional four-channel camera support with HDD loop recording through the Camera Hub. The 18-pin docking connector provides access to RS232, RS485, GPIO, RJ45 Ethernet, power, ignition, and OTG functions, while the cradle adds USB and Ethernet connectivity. Optional RFID, 1D & 2D scanner, and LoRa modules provide additional options for identification, scanning, and wireless field applications.

Built for demanding operating conditions, the tablet has an IP67-certified sealing rating and supports 1.2m (4 ft.) drops per MIL-STD-810G. It operates from -20℃ to 60℃ (-4°F to 140°F), supports 90% non-condensing humidity, and provides specified ESD protection. The rechargeable 3.8V 8000mAh lithium-ion battery supports mobile operation, while the included vehicle docking station, RAM Mount kit, car charger, Type-C cable, screw kit, and NFC test card provide components for vehicle deployment. These features make the Topicon MDT865 suitable for fleet operations, transportation, logistics, field service, mobile inspection, and other rugged in-vehicle computing applications.
