When a marine or onboard computing system has to handle multiple network devices, PoE equipment, serial devices, storage, and control I/O in a limited space, a standard desktop PC may not provide the right combination of connectivity, power flexibility, and environmental durability. The Vecow ECS-4700-PoE-1365UE is a marine computer built around the 10-core 13th Gen Intel Core i7-1365UE processor with Intel SoC chipset and Intel Iris Xe graphics. It provides the processing capability needed for onboard computing, monitoring, control, data processing, and other demanding marine applications while supporting Windows 11, Windows 10, and Linux operating systems.

For networking, the system combines two Intel I226 2.5GigE LAN ports with TSN support and four additional Gigabit PoE+ ports powered by Intel I350 controllers. The four PoE+ ports support IEEE 802.3at and up to 25.5W per port, allowing compatible network equipment to receive both data and power through the Ethernet connection. This can help reduce separate power wiring when connecting supported onboard devices.

The computer also provides extensive interfaces for equipment integration, including four configurable RS-232/422/485 COM ports, 16 isolated digital I/O with 8 DI and 8 DO, USB ports, HDMI 2.0, and DisplayPort 1.4a. Its display interfaces can support up to 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz, while the external Nano SIM socket and M.2 expansion options provide additional flexibility for wireless or communication modules.

For storage, the ECS-4700-PoE-1365UE provides two SATA III 6Gbps interfaces with software RAID 0 and 1 support, two 2.5" SSD/HDD mounting options, and an M.2 Key M socket with PCIe x4. The system also includes TPM 2.0 security, a watchdog timer, hardware monitoring, and automatic throttling control when the CPU overheats, helping it operate as a managed embedded computing platform rather than a conventional desktop PC.

The system is designed for demanding onboard environments, with dual redundant 9V to 50V DC power inputs, 16-mode software ignition control, and wall, optional VESA, or optional DIN rail mounting. Its operating temperature range of -25°C to 75°C with airflow, -40°C to 85°C storage range, vibration and shock testing, and marine-related EMC standards make it suitable for marine computing installations where compact size, connectivity, and environmental resistance are important.
