The Westermo Lynx 5512-E-F4G-T8G-LV is an industrial Layer 3 Gigabit managed switch designed for networks that need both high-speed copper connections and fiber connectivity. It provides 12 ports in total, including eight 10/100/1000 Mbit/s RJ-45 Ethernet ports and four 100/1000 Mbit/s SFP ports. This combination allows connected equipment to use copper Ethernet while fiber links can be used for uplinks or network connections where longer-distance or electrically isolated communication is required.

The Layer 3 design provides network functionality beyond basic Ethernet switching, making the Lynx 5512 suitable for more structured industrial networks. With 64 VLANs and eight priority queues, the switch can organize network traffic and prioritize important data. Its galvanic isolation to all ports also helps separate connected interfaces electrically, which is useful in industrial environments where equipment may be exposed to electrical disturbances.
