The Remote Edge Connectivity Kit is purpose-built for industrial operators managing unmanned and remote sites pump stations, substations, water treatment facilities, and distributed field assets where there is no on-site IT staff and no reliable fixed connectivity. Designed to deliver continuous visibility and local intelligence at the very edge of the network, this kit brings enterprise-grade cellular connectivity, edge computing, and wireless field sensing together in a single ruggedized package, eliminating the cost and delay of repeated engineer site visits.
Anchored by a Teltonika RUTX11 industrial cellular router with 4G/LTE failover and an Advantech ARK-1222 DIN-rail edge computer, the kit provides a self-healing connectivity fabric that keeps critical monitoring and control workflows online even when the primary link drops. Automatic failover to cellular standby requires zero manual intervention, ensuring that telemetry streams, alarms, and control loops are never interrupted by an upstream connectivity failure. Edge compute processes data locally, so time-critical decisions continue to execute on-site regardless of cloud availability cutting unnecessary site visits by up to 70%.
The wireless sensing layer is served by an Advantech WISE-6610 LoRaWAN gateway, providing long-range, low-power connectivity to field sensors across the entire site footprint without the need for field wiring. An Advantech ADAM-6717 intelligent protocol gateway bridges legacy Modbus and serial field devices into the same data pipeline, while a PICOPC MNHO-142 fanless edge server provides local data logging, on-site applications, and store-and-forward buffering during connectivity outages so that no data is ever lost during a link interruption.
Connectivity to the cloud is handled securely through the cellular router's built-in firewall and VPN (IPsec, OpenVPN, WireGuard), establishing an encrypted tunnel between the remote site and the central monitoring platform. All field data sensor telemetry, protocol-converted device data, and locally processed analytics is aggregated at the edge and published northbound over MQTT/TLS, giving operations teams a single, real-time view of every remote asset from a central dashboard.
